Events Calendar
Seeds are the fruit of sexual reproduction by plants and which guarantee the continuation of generations in the years to come. The stratagems that plants employ to reproduce and disperse are many and complex: barocoria, when it occurs due to the effect of gravity, bolocoria, when in the very act of dehiscence the seeds are projected at a distance. Other types of dissemination, on the other hand, involve the intervention of external agents: anemocory, when the seed is transported by the wind; zoocory, when it occurs by animals, or by ants (myrmecory); hydrochory, when the seed is transported by water; or ornithochory through birds.
The event will examine all types of seed dissemination but also why the reproduction strategies: 'K' - a few large seeds, and 'r' - a lot of small seeds.
