Presentation of the new Carsiana logo

"My karst is hard and good. Each of his blades of grass has split the rock to sprout, each flower has drunk its heat to open." (S. Slataper)
Centaurea rupestris is precisely an emblem of this perseverance and tenacity of life that springs from the stone: a flower tied to the grazing lands of the karst heath, disheveled by the bora wind, yellow like the summer sun.

Centaurea rupestris is a characteristic species of the vegetation association Carici-Centaureetum rupestris, a plant community that contains a great heritage of biodiversity and is today at risk of disappearance; already the founders of Carsiana, more than 50 years ago, had seized the vulnerability in relation to the great socioeconomic changes in the territory. Today Centaurea rupestris also represents the commitment of the Region to protect the most sensitive and peculiar environments of the Karst and to continue in the footsteps of the founders of the Garden in raising awareness and dissemination.

From this year Centaurea rupestris is the logo of Carsiana and will accompany us to discover the garden!
