The Black pine, a landscape element that today is almost essential when you think of the Karst, is actually a recent addition to our territory.
Introduced from the end of the 1800s, it has drastically changed the appearance of the karst area, bringing with it also various animal species linked to it. Thanks to the collaboration of the staff of the Didactic Natural Center of Basovizza we will analyze the history of the black pine in Carso, from historical reforestation to the current problems of degradation.
We therefore invite you to join us on Saturday 5 October at 11.00. The forest inspector Diego Masiello, coordinator of the Naturalistic Learning Center and Tina Klanjšček, scientific director of the Carsiana Botanical Garden will accompany us.
At the end of the speeches, various publications will be distributed free of charge by the Naturalistic Learning Center and the Friuli Venezia Giulia Autonomous Region.
Participation in the event is free.
