Compost area
Adjacent to the teaching garden, a composting area has been created, which is essential for the sustainable management of organic waste. All residues from the maintenance of the garden's greenery are collected here. The heap is managed through periodic turning, which ensures the presence of oxygen, necessary for the composting process. These operations also make it possible to monitor the correct progression of the decomposition cycle. The resulting compost is an excellent natural fertiliser, mainly used to replenish nutrients in the garden compost bin at the end of the production cycle. It improves the structure of the soil, increases its water-holding capacity and provides a balanced supply of nutrients, promoting healthy and vigorous crop growth. This creates a closed, sustainable agricultural system in which organic waste is recycled to improve soil quality and support plant growth. This circular agriculture model concretely demonstrates how resources can be used efficiently and sustainably, providing a practical example of a circular economy applied to agriculture.
