The first part of the session will begin with a guided tour of the garden, during which a guide will take us on a journey to discover the history and typical habitats of the Karst.
It will be an opportunity to observe the local flora and fauna up close and learn about the unique features of this extraordinary landscape. Even at this stage, we will be encouraged to observe and listen carefully, before choosing the subjects we wish to depict in our little fold-out booklet. The first drawing exercises will be led by illustrator Elena Perco and will aim to hone our powers of observation and synthesis. In particular, we will focus on learning how to create quick sketches, a fundamental exercise for rapidly expressing our impressions. Other exercises, however, will focus on developing clarity and precision in drawing. Finally, we will explore some examples of fold-out booklets and learn how to design and create our own in a quick and creative way. The booklets will be created using the sketching technique. **Sketching** is a form of art often practised outdoors that focuses on creating sketches or rough drafts, usually quick and spontaneous, which capture an idea or a scene immediately. It can be done using various tools. These sketches, though simple and not always finished, can have a strong visual impact and represent an important part of the process. No specific requirements are needed, other than a willingness to explore the visible and the invisible.
