June 20: Solstitial plants: the bunch of San Giovanni

In the days of the summer solstice, the echoes of ancient times resonate in the tradition of the bunch of San Giovanni: what are the herbs that are harvested and where does the custom come from? We invite you to learn more about the ethnobotanical symbologies linked to St. John in our territories: a journey that is lost in distant times, in the ancient link between humans and the botanical world, in ritual uses and pharmacological properties.

We will discover what St. John's wort, mugwort, rosemary, rue, lavender and other species tell us, in a rediscovery of the myths related to plants and the stories that each of them carries with it in officinal and ritual use through the centuries.

Appointment on Sunday 20 June at 10.30 am in the company of Dr. Elizabeth Visentin, vice president and scientific director of the Oannes association, where she deals with the enhancement of botanical-medicinal culture in the historical and scientific fields.
