12 December: Dendrochronology

12 December: Dendrochronology

There is a story written in wood. Each tree tells us about the place where it grew. Ever since it was a young seedling and for centuries and sometimes millennia, every year it adds a circle to its wood, impressing it with information about the environment that surrounds it. Human ingenuity has been able to decipher these messages, thus obtaining important information on past centuries, not only regarding the climate but also archeology and art.
