15 June: Six-legged Carsiana: a look at the insects of a Karst sinkhole

15 June: Six-legged Carsiana: a look at the insects of a Karst sinkhole

Current and past land use, dolines and the microclimate, the relationship between flowers and insects, soil, pond and woodland fauna, ecology and conservation, climate change, bio-indicators, environmental monitoring: these and others are examples of topics that can be discussed starting with the insects that we will be able to observe during a short walk in the botanical garden.

We will see how much information can be gleaned from insects in even a limited area. In this context, we will be given a demonstration of some simple entomofauna monitoring techniques, as a useful tool for understanding and managing the area.
This is without detracting from the pleasure of simply observing the animal in its environment.
