On Sunday 10 November, Carsiana will open its gates from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. for the first extraordinary opening, which will be repeated every second Sunday of the winter months.
For the occasion, we offer an event at 10.30 a.m. dedicated to the use of phototraps, which increasingly represent a powerful tool in the hands of naturalists and field biologists.
Fifteen years ago they were expensive and of uncertain yield. Today, costs have dropped by 80% and the quality of filming has improved significantly. During the event, led by ornithological naturalist Paul Tout, two photo traps will be set up in the garden and guidance will be given on what to do and what not to do to improve the performance of the equipment. Last but not least, there will be a space dedicated to some suggestions for the choice, and possible purchase, of one or more phototraps and their setting.
