The collection of edible wild species, or foraging, is an increasingly common practice, which however requires preparation and study before being undertaken. We can enjoy what nature offers us, but with certain limits that must be respected in order not to damage the species and environments in which we venture.

The appearance of the Karst has changed a lot in the last few centuries. The first photos show it barren, but today the vegetation advances and is slowly covering the open areas not grazed. This process is called ecological succession and can provide us with interesting insights to understand in which direction the Karst environments are evolving.
Sunday 3 April from 10.30 to 12.00 at the Botanical Garden / Botanični vrt Carsiana (Sgonico / Zgonik 55) Born to Read returns to offer all-natural readings aimed at families with children aged 2 and over. According to the formula already adopted last year, the readings will be followed by a child-friendly walk to discover Carsiana in the company of a naturalist guide of the garden.
The Carsiana Botanical Garden reopens to the public!
Until April 14th we will be open:
- Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday from 10.00 to 13.00
- Thursday, Friday, Saturday, Sunday from 10.00 to 13.00 and from 15.00 to 19.00
Access to the garden is free. The basic Green pass is required to access.

The Autonomous Region of Friuli Venezia Giulia is pleased to inaugurate the first edition of "The choice of our plant", a cycle of training events directed by the technicians of the forest nurseries of Tarcento (UD) and Maniago (PN), and of the Carsiana botanical garden in Sgonico (TS).
